All Awards comprise business support provided by Cockpit Arts as well as subsidised studio space for one year.

The New Craftsmen Award at Cockpit Arts
An award to foster creative excellence and diversity in the craft world
This new three year Award is for a Maker who demonstrates excellence in their work across furniture, lighting, artworks or other objects for interior settings. Applicants will be assessed on their craft skills, the ambition of their creative work, the potential and viability of their business plan and the extent to which the maker believes that they will benefit from the opportunity.
The Award comprises business support, space in a shared studio at Cockpit Arts as well as guidance and mentoring from the team at The New Craftsmen.

The Cockpit Arts / Worshipful Company of Turners Award
This Award is for an aspiring or established turner i.e., someone who practices the art and craft of turning on a lathe in wood or other materials. The Award will help the selected turner by providing the space and time to grow their business, increase profitability and develop their profile. We will be looking for an individual who can demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit as well as creative excellence and craft skills.
The Award comprises one year’s business support and subsidised studio space at Cockpit Arts in Deptford, including access to a lathe and a workbench, thanks to The Worshipful Company of Turners.

The Cockpit Arts / Haberdashers’ Award
This Award aims to assist makers working in knit to start up and develop in business. It is for individuals who demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit as well as creative excellence and craft skills and are committed to working closely with Cockpit Arts to realise their longer-term goals.
The Award comprises one year’s business support and subsidised studio space at Cockpit Arts.
