As we’re all adjusting to working remotely or in isolation while trying to understand the almost hourly changes, we’re doing our best to keep our spirits strong and positive. Cockpit, like all organisations, is doing its utmost to support our community of makers and staff during these difficult times. Our priority is the wellbeing of everyone around us and we’ve put measures in place to minimise non-essential social contact and do our bit to prevent further spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus.

Our buildings are still open and the makers who can work safely without contact with others are continuing to use their studios. All staff are working remotely, and contactable via email info@cockpitarts.com

Our business incubation team are working closely with Cockpit’s makers to support them and their businesses and minimise the impact. We are collating advice and information from Government, social enterprise and charity sector bodies and working closely with other creative industries organisations, including Creative Industries Federation. You can find links to these resources at the bottom of this article.

This is an unprecedented challenging time for small businesses and we unashamedly encourage you to continue to support them. Many of our makers have online shops and are still taking orders and commissions – websites and contact details can be found on our Maker Directory.

Our current Awards have now been paused for applications and are closed for the time being. You can still find all the information below that you’ll need to apply once we get back to normal and we can reinstate our invitation to join us.

We’ll continue to share our news and makers’ posts on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. Please share the love.

While we’re looking after each other, a reminder that we can all do extra within our local areas.

Wishing you all strength and good health from everyone at Cockpit.
