Welcome through our virtual doors
Cockpit’s online emporium starts today – for the very first time in 30 years our Winter Open Studios are taking a different form.
Cockpit Makers’ Market Shop
Cockpit has always been a destination to discover fresh talent on the cusp of career success – and our new online emporium features virtuoso makers across the spectrum of craft disciplines: from contemporary ceramics to fine jewellery, from hand-printed cards to handwoven textiles, and from bespoke leather goods to unique kitchen knives.
There are a host of more unusual disciplines, too, including millinery, mosaic and Moroccan Zouaq painting.
Items have been selected to suit all budgets, from splash-out collectible artworks to readily affordable stocking fillers, smashing any preconception that high-end craft is just for those with deep pockets. Pieces on offer will include a number of ‘studio exclusives’ – items created especially for the event and unavailable anywhere else.
Other exciting features include:
Starting Friday 27 November and happening throughout December, we’re bringing 16 virtual tours to our digital extravaganza, enjoy them from the comfort of your home, through the wonders of Zoom.

The Cockpit Edit
We’ve enrolled style insiders to share a glimpse into their gift wish lists with taste-makers The Repair Shop’s Jay Blades, deputy editor of House & Garden David Nicholls, London’s Deputy Mayor of Culture Justine Simons, ex-Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman, photographer Robert Taylor, Anna Garner of The Garnered, Fashion Director of The Times Anna Murphy, Creative Director for Maggie Semple Dulcie Pryslopki and artist Camille Walala.
Watch out for more details on our Instagram to see their choices from Cockpit’s top makers.
Makers’ Books and Catalogues
Looking for the perfect stocking filler for your craft-obsessed friend or a stylish coffee table book for your design-savvy Mum? Perhaps it’s the weekend reading you’ve been promising yourself … you know you deserve it.
Makers’ own films not only offer insights into their techniques and processes, they also convey a strong sense of their aesthetics and influences. Not quite like being in the same room of course but at mostly just a few minutes each, they’re an entertaining and informative break with your afternoon coffee.
