Couture Hats

Our look is understated, timeless with immaculate finish and very modern. The hats are outfit specific with strong fashion direction.

Prudence is an American couture milliner based in London.

Prudence Millinery opened in 1990. In 1990 Vivienne Westwood asked Prudence to make hats for "Dressing Up", Westwood's Autumn Winter Collection for 1991 which helped to launch Prudence's career. Prudence has made hats for Vivienne Westwood ever since, for Gold Label, Red Label, MAN and Anglomania collections. In 1996 Prudence for Vivienne Westwood won the Best Accessories Award for the MAN hats from the Fashion Council of America.

Prudence sold her first collection made under her own label Prudence Millinery to Bergdorf Goodman and Henri Bendel both in New York. A hat from her first collection was photographed by Steven Meisel on Linda Evangelista for Vogue Italia. Since then, Prudence has designed hat collections for many designers and clients including Yves Saint Laurent, Tom Ford, Stefano Pilati, Gucci, Julien MacDonald, Lacoste, Diana Princess of Wales and Lady Snowden.
