Ella Fearon Low

Playful sophisticated contemporary jewellery that references historical forms

"I am a visual collector, a hoarder of the decorative details of life. I delight in breathing fresh energy into familiar motifs through my contemporary jewellery designs."

Award winning Artist Jeweller Ella works with strong shapes and diverse materials to create playful sophisticated contemporary jewellery that references historical forms.

Ella is influenced by decorative and domestic objects and seeks her inspiration in sources as diverse as Roman Jewellery, 17th Century glassware and Edwardian aesthetics whilst embracing a contemporary edge. She realises her designs through a mixed palette of precious and non-precious materials, enjoying the conversations between them.

Passionate about the energy of the finished pieces, Ella feels her work comes to life on the body where its balance, colour and movement can best be appreciated.

Ella’s jewellery won a prestigious Goldsmiths’ Craft and Design Council Award in 2018.

During her time on the Cockpit Arts and Newby Trust Award Ella will be developing a new body of work drawing on her physical collections of ephemera, nature’s gems, and discarded shards of previous lives.
