Ekta Kaul is an award winning textile artist, designer and educator. Her textiles are imbued with character, they speak of exquisite hand craftsmanship, simplicity and timeless style.
Sumptuous silks, fine wools and soft cashmeres are embroidered, hand-dyed and printed in simple graphic compositions using time-honoured methods. Ekta creates bespoke embroidered maps and small editions of scarves in bold colours. She teaches courses and masterclasses in embroidery.
Following her training at India’s premier design school the National Institute of Design, Ekta won the Charles Wallace and British Council scholarships to pursue MA Textiles in the UK. She has gained the following of a discerning audience and her work is stocked at select galleries in the UK including The New Craftsmen, Contemporary Applied Arts, Designers Guild, Ruthin Craft Centre among others. She has received awards from the Crafts Council and the Arts Council, England and was the finalist in Jerwood Makers Open 2019.
