I aim to create intelligent designs that bring aesthetic pleasure, both as jewellery and simply as objects in their own right.
Award-winning designer Sarah Herriot is renowned for her sculptural, modern jewellery. Based in Bloomsbury with her trusty assistant Scout, Sarah is a self-taught jeweller, with a unique perspective and approach. Her designs attract praise for their simplicity of form, weight and natural elegance. Deceptively simple and well-considered, they have earned her an impressive list of clients.
Sarah’s jewellery is characterised by strong lines, architectural forms and dramatic contrast between light and dark. She uses a combination of 3D CAD and traditional handmaking techniques; her affinity for computer-based design stems from her previous life as a software designer.
Engineering and problem solving play an integral part; the satisfying click as the tension bangle clasp is closed is an example of the rigour and elegance found in all of Sarah’s work.
