Visiting the Office
Our office hours are Monday – Friday, 9.30am – 5.30pm. The office entrance is on the first floor in the East Wing. If you enter Cockpit Yard you will see a door on your left with the Cockpit Arts sign. There is a buzzer for the Office next to the door.
Visiting the Education Space
If you are visiting us to attend workshops or activities please come to our main entrance and ring the ‘Education Space’ buzzer unless otherwise instructed on booking. If you have any access requirements please let the event organiser/contact know.
Appointments with makers
Each maker’s studio has a labelled buzzer by the entrance of the wing in which they are situated. The West Wing is on the right when you enter Cockpit Yard and the East Wing on the left.
Our Holborn incubator is situated on the 1st and 2nd floors with lift access from John’s Mews; please telephone 020 7419 1959 or email firstname.lastname@example.org if you are visiting during office hours and have any access requirements. A member of staff will be very happy to help.
If you wish to use our lift to visit during our Open Studios events you can go straight to John’s Mews (it is the blue, concertina shutter, just after the motorcycle bay on the right) and press the lift bell for attention. Please be aware that the lift cannot be used if the fire alarm sounds. If you have limited mobility, please prepare a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP) with a member of staff if necessary, as we do not have evacuation chairs on site.

From Holborn Tube
Turn right out of Holborn tube, crossing High Holborn onto Southampton Row. Keep going down the road until you see the Cochrane Theatre on the right and turn onto Theobalds Road. After 300 metres turn left onto Gt James Street. At the end of the street bear right into Northington Street. Look out for a signs for Cockpit Yard/Cockpit Arts on the right. (Takes approx. 11 minutes if walking)
From Chancery Lane Tube
Turn left onto Gray’s Inn Road, after about 450 metres take the third turning on the left (the one after Theobalds Rd) onto Northington Street. Cockpit Yard/Cockpit Arts is the fourth turning on the left. (Takes approx. 9 minutes if walking)
From Russell Square Tube
Turn right out of the tube, right onto Southampton Row and left onto Guilford Street. take the second right onto Lambs Conduit Street and second left onto Rugby Street, at the Rugby pub cross over the pedestrian area with trees onto Northington Street. Look out for a signs for Cockpit Yard/Cockpit Arts on the right.
From Kings Cross Station
There are short cuts but the simplest route is to cross Euston Road and turn right into Gray’s Inn Road. It’s approximately 1 kilometre to Northington Street which is the 9th turning on the right. Cockpit Yard/Cockpit Arts is the fourth turning on the left.
There is no parking available at the Holborn site, however there are meters in the area which allow cars to be left for up to two hours. Visit www.park-up.com to find out more about local parking.
Please note that cars may enter Cockpit Yard in order to collect or deliver items, parking temporarily before the black ‘Veolia’ gates.
